Loud & Queer presents Karaoke, YouTube style!
YouTube karaoke means that you’re not limited to a song book. Open up YouTube, have a search and if a karaoke version of the song exists then you can request it!
Loud & Queer presenting means that this is a curated night that prioritises LGBTQIA+ attendees. This is not your typical pub or private booth karaoke. Your host for the evening curates song selection based on keeping the atmosphere just right for the party. This means that your song request is not guaranteed to be chosen and song order will serve the flow.
Get creative! For example, do you want to sing a beloved, but forgotten one-hit-wonder from 2003? PERFECT!
Do you want to sing Mr. Brightside? This is not the night for you.
Do you want to sing a Kiwi classic? YES! Do you want to sing Valerie or Torn? Not here.
This karaoke night is for the weird, delightful and unexpected.
We encourage dancing, cheering and respect for those on stage. Enthusiasm and commitment to the song makes for the best karaoke performances – you don’t need to be able to sing well! If you want to sing, but you’re feeling nervous, someone will gladly sing with you until you feel comfortable.
We look forward to singing with you! Fill in a song request slip on the night and drop it in the jar.
